The 2002 District 1 Champion for the North Central Region was Bellefonte Area High School. The 2002 District 2 Champion, Williamsport Area High School, was determined as follows:

Round 1 - February 8, 2002

  • Montoursville High School - 66.625
  • Southern Columbia High School - 53.625
  • Presiding Judge: Honorable Kenneth D. Brown

Round 2 - February 11, 2002

  • Williamsport Area High School - 69.636
  • Southern Columbia High School - 67.182
  • Presiding Judge: Honorable Dudley N. Anderson

Round 3 - February 21, 2002

  • Williamsport Area High School - 65.286
  • Montoursville High School - 62.429
  • Presiding Judge: Gerald Seevers, Hearing Officer

The Regional Final Competition was held on Friday, March 15, 2002 and the Honorable Malcolm Muir served as the presiding judge. At this level, each juror casts a “vote” for one (1) of the teams based upon which team received the most points from the particular juror. The team with the most “votes” is the Regional Champion. This year, Williamsport Area High School was the North Central Regional Champion and has earned the privilege to compete in the State Competition in Harrisburg, PA on March 22 - 23, 2002.
